EunoiaWorks

EunoiaWorks is a nonprofit focused on making the arts and humanities a more central, evidence-based part of healthcare and human flourishing.

We bring together researchers, healthcare institutions, artists, and technologists to design and implement programs, evaluate their impact, and determine which models are fit for long-term adoption.

Our Thesis

Healthcare is often excellent at treating disease but less equipped to help people process what is happening to them, make meaning from illness, maintain a sense of personhood, or feel connected during periods of pain, fear, and uncertainty.

Within healthcare settings, the arts and humanities can alleviate dimensions of pain and suffering, create opportunities for meaning-making, strengthen connection, and help patients process difficult experiences as they unfold. We believe this can lead to better patient experiences and better patient outcomes. A central purpose of EunoiaWorks is to understand exactly what those outcomes are and how they can be measured, translated, and taught.  We aim to develop more rigorous and standardized ways of measuring wellbeing in healthcare, integrating lived experience with physiological, behavioral, and institutional data.
